Interior of the HORECA fair at the Ibiza Exhibition Centre

Horeca Baleares Ibiza, a unique setting to prepare for the 2024 season

The fair Horeca Baleares Ibiza is held from February 26 to 28 at the Ibiza Fairgrounds with almost a hundred participating companies and a wide range of complementary activities. For three days, professionals in the sector will be able to discover this "great showcase" that is consolidating, in its third edition, as a "strategic event" for the hotel, restaurant and catering industry, according to its organizers.

A large exhibition area will allow professionals to discover the services of food distribution companies, machinery, services and training. At the different stands, attendees will learn in detail about the products of more than 500 brands, both from Ibiza and national and international.

In a context like the Pitiusas, where hospitality and restaurants have a vital relevance for the economy, professionals in the sector consider this fair as an ideal setting to prepare for the tourist season. "Horeca Baleares Ibiza has established itself as the reference fair for the horeca sector and marks the pre-start of the season," says Infinitel's hospitality and retail product manager, Isaac Rubio Petrus. His company, in fact, has been participating in this hospitality fair since its first edition.

Getting ready for the tourist season

Take ideas to improve the service or decoration of the premises, renew certain equipment before the start of the season or incorporate technology such as systems to improve the efficiency and management of hotels or restaurants is easier when a variety of specialized companies are in the same place, as happens in Horeca Baleares in its Ibizan edition.

In addition, this hospitality fair is ideal for trying new products and incorporating them into restaurant menus: from sliced ham to breads, coffees, rice, oysters or caviar, among many others.

Horeca Baleares Ibiza is also the perfect setting to expand the drinks catalogue of bars, restaurants and catering services, since there is a large presence of distributors among the exhibitors who will reveal the details of each product and advice to visitors about the best options for each establishment during the three days of the fair.

Complementary activities

In its second edition, held in 2023, Horeca Baleares Ibiza exceeded 6,000 visitors, a figure they hope to beat again in this third year of the fair. "There are going to be three days full of activities at the exhibitors and, of course, on their stage, where a wide and varied proposal of conferences, tributes, recognitions and the renowned competitions will take place," the organization says.

The tradition of the islands will once again be the protagonist in the 'Cuina amb peix popular' contest, which will take place tomorrow, Tuesday at two in the afternoon. There will also be a prize for the 'Best gourmet pizza' contest that closes the contest on Wednesday at two in the afternoon. And, this year, as a novelty, the first edition of the preparation of 'Millor coca Eivissenca' will be held (today at the same time). An opportunity to promote and publicize the products of the land and sea of Ibiza and Formentera in this professional context.

In addition to these activities and the conferences that different chefs will give on the main stage, tomorrow, Tuesday, a tribute will be held to the chef and businessman Paco Roncero and recognition will be given to Marta Torres Molina (journalist for Diario de Ibiza and author of several cookbooks), Antonia Cardona and Miguel Bonet (from the Es Ventall restaurant in Ibiza), and to the Costa Family (from the Paya Group), "for their contribution all these years to the development, dissemination and effort of what is today a reality in Ibiza as a world tourist and gastronomic reference.

«Horeca Baleares Ibiza is an example of public-private collaboration and therefore has the support and collaboration of the main public institutions: Government of the Balearic Islands, Consell Insular de Ibiza and Ibiza City Council, as well such as renowned companies such as Redexis, Baleària and Coca-Cola", highlight the organizers.
