‘Recovering the ‘Trobada de Pobles’ has been an objective of all of us, in this sense the improvement of subsidies for entities and being able to hold this event have been marking the lines of the meetings that we have been holding these months’, according to councillor Marilina Ribas in a press conference, who explained that the intention of this cultural event is to return the celebration of this meeting point to the island, ‘because we must not lose sight of the fact that the island really brings together a wonderful melting pot of cultures’.

The Trobada de Pobles will be held at the Recinte Firal on Saturday 5 October, from 10:00 to 20:00, and on Sunday 6 October, from 10:00 to 18:00. Councillor Ribas explained that in this cultural event ‘we will find an exhibition of each association with dances, traditional costumes, gastronomy or typical crafts of each region’. Admission will be free, and this event will feature the participation of the associations of Cantabria, Bolivia, Tahiti, Philippines, Valencia, Paraguay, Ecuador and, from the Association of Slavic Arrels with Bulgaria, Poland, Ukraine, Romania and Russia, as well as the Federation of Dance and Popular Culture Groups of Ibiza, representing the island.

This cultural event will feature a free tasting of dishes from around the world from 1 to 3 p.m., followed by musical performances from around the world throughout the day and a children's entertainment area.

Councillor Marilina Ribas concluded by thanking all the participating associations, ‘there is very close cooperation and collaboration between the various regional organisations taking part, of which there are nine in total, and who have created a support team to be able to set up this event, which has not been held for 8 years in Eivissa, and which is an opportunity to reflect and share the richness and multiculturalism that exists on our island’.
